our class treaty was made together because the teacher thought it was a good idea and it is the start of the year so we are doing it in every class here it is if you want to see it.

when goal setting it is important to make sure that it is a good one when you set a goal you should use the SMART way

in health we have started to do hauora and we had to go into groups that we would not normally be in and we had to make a model out of paper I think I worked well with my group and we did a lot of work. I don't think I had any changes that we had to overcome because we worked well together Whare tapa wha is having all you need to be healthy and have a good life.

Creative writing
In English we have been doing creative writing we started the topic by going into groups and brainstorming about one of the words creative or writing (my group got writing). we also went on Padlet about what makes creative writing good here is the link. then we learned about Haikus and we made some. then we learned about Sensory language and this is the paragraph that I wrote "The sky turned blood red as the crowd cheered. Almost everyone had come to see the head fall, we were so tightly packed that I was shoulder to shoulder with everyone else. I could already smell the blood, it was so strong I could almost taste it." all in all it was fun but I would have preferred to have been able to write what ever we wanted to more (we only did it once).
this week we have been doing things to help us to start a novel we did things like show don't tell and narrative opens at first we just went for it and I wrote these: The lake was crystal clear she loved coming here. she came here a lot after her parents died they had come here as a family. now five years on she still loved it,

I live in a ghost town most people would shudder at the thought of living there I know I did when I was alive that is but I am not and so I live here. But the strangest thing happened earlier today a human someone who was really alive came into town,
June 24 3018: I woke up to a whole new world to the one I thought I had just left first off there were flying cars and flying houses to be honest with you I thought I was dreaming I mean 1 second ago I was in a hospital in 2018 and now I am here I found out afterwards that it was the year 3018 so now I guess I have to adapt to my new life.
(sorry about my punctuation or just the quality) then we added action to it: Mary loved the idea of seeing a ghost town everyone had heard about them and most people were terrified of going there even to visit and now she was walking into one had the sircatanses been different she would have been jumping for joy but she was running for her life so no time to feel excited she had been warned that her uncle was going to kill her but she couldn’t believe it why would he do it what was there to gain but it turned out to be true so Mary fled she had heard of a ghost town a good day's ride on horseback so she went there knowing that no one would dare coming there so she was safe for now and that is how she ended up here the town looked good it was clean and well kept which Mary thought was rather odd as no one had lived there for centuries. Mary couldn’t shake the feeling that she was being watched that she had disturbed something which she unknowingly had for she thought like everyone else in her village that it was a ghost town because no one lived there but it was in fact a ghost town because it was a town just like her own but ghosts lived there and they were terrified they had never seen a living person in there town before some of them had been dead for so long that they had almost forgotten what it was like to be alive so to see a living person was a huge shock so they were hiding and watching to see what this person with there horse would do. By this time the sun had started setting so Mary hurried to find a place to stay for the night she edvensuly found a house that was a little run down but she liked it and it looked like no one lived there. It smelled a little musty but it would do. When sleep finally came to Mary the ghosts came out to see what had invaded there home one of the braver ghosts (and one on the newest) went closer than everyone else dared.

I really enjoyed doing this because I can do what ever I want.

Introduction: Hi all In DTE at the moment we are learning about ergonomics and how to be more ergonomic and things like that so I made an Info graphic to help here it is I hope you like it.
Reflection: I made it on Venngage and I found it quite easy to use. All in all I fond it quite fun to make (even if I had to add more to my original thing.

I applied personal safety into our practical by being careful with the knife when I was chopping up the veges.
I applied food safety into our practical by cooking the egg well so I did not poison every one in my group.
I applied hygiene into our practical by washing my hands when I needed to.
things I need to do better would be cleaning up after we have made the food because that took a long time this week by starting it earlier and eat later.

the bacteria found in rice is: Uncooked rice can contain spores of Bacillus cereus, a bacterium that can causefood poisoning. The spores can survive when rice is cooked. If rice is left standing at room temperature, the spores can grow into bacteria. These bacteria will multiply and may produce toxins (poisons) that cause vomiting or diarrhoea. (yes I did get this from google)
the food safety issues you were mindful of? we were mindful of cooking the chicken so we didn't die.

yesterday we made sure that our food was safe by cooking the meat well by making sure it was not raw and we where careful with the knifes by not cutting off our fingers we washed our hands after touching the meat because we are smart.
why is meat patties not okay to eat raw? it is because because it has lots of bacteria in it.
to avoid cross contamination we used different chopping boards and knifes.

one thing that went well was it cooked really well (exempt the first one) one thing that didn't go well was people not helping in the group but other than that it was really good.

-cooking method used yesterday was stir frying.
this means that the pan was on a high heat and the veggies are cooked for a short period of time
we know if the chicken is cooked when its white on the inside and the colour of the juice and the internal temp is over 70 degrees Celsius.
-the nutrients we got from the practical yesterday were vitamins, protein, carbohydrates, fat
-now chose three and tell me their functions: fat keeps you warm, protein helps you to grow your bones and things like that, carbohydrates give you long lasting energy.
-why is this type of cooking method healthy or unhealthy? explain: it is in between because it had lots of oil and peanut butter, chili sauce but it also had veggies in it so it was neither unhealthy or healthy.

here is the recipe for this week: wap with 1 tablespoon of canola oil or margarine
the focus of the meals we are doing in this unit is healthy meals for your family and changing what you put in it for your family's needs.
things that I would change in the recipe for my family are more veggies; more pasta; more meat; don't put the paste in; change the tomatoes pasta sauce. I would make this change because that is how I make it at home and if I do that we will have more food.

here is the recipe for this week: wap with 1 tablespoon of canola oil or margarine
Swap for learning mince Eg: premium or prime
Reduce to 1/4 tsp iodised salt
Reduce - Use tomatoes with no added salt or fresh tomatoes
Reduce by half due to salt content Add vegetables such as grated carrot and peppers for fibre and nutrients
Can use wholemeal pasta for increase fibre Check- using a non-stick pan
Flavour - add fresh tomatoes and herbs for flavour boost instead of salt
