we are learning about how to describe places in our writing to do this we had to take a description of a place from a book and add on to it here are mine

Big Sur by Jack Kerouac
“On soft Spring nights I’ll stand in the yard under the stars — Something good will come out of all things yet — And it will be golden and eternal just like that — There’s no need to say another word.”

my bit
and yet seeing the ocean with the cliffs around it you almost have to say more. It was a beautiful view. the ocean was a dark blue, the cliffs were green with plants. I felt like I could look at that view all day

this is the picture I based my description on:
bixby canyon

I didn't really like doing this because I felt like there was no need to add on what was being said and my writing was bad so it would ruin it. But I hope you liked it.

yesterday we did our first practical lesson of the year we made Chicken Chow Mien click

reflection what were things we had to remember:
- food safety we had to remember not to cross contaminate eg: put cooked chicken on the board that had it raw.
- personal safety we had to remember to pay attention when we are cutting our food so we don't cut our self's and look out for hot things so we don't burn our self's
- hygiene we had to remember to wash our hands after touching our face/hair. we also had to remember to cover up our cuts

Moving forward to next week, what improvements would you need to make in these three areas and how do you know that your action is avoiding the growth of bacteria? Next week we can repeat what we did this week because we remembered everything and worked really well. We know that the actions we did avoids bacteria growing because we know that bacteria like specific environments like warmth and moisture so getting rid of those environments by washing our hands or wiping down our tables kills that bacteria.

soundtrack of my life

In English because it is the start of the year we had to make a slide show of songs that relate to our life in some way -- eg: your Mums favourite song -- we had to do this so the teachers got to know us better this is mine.
